Response commitments and common questions

I have a product idea but I'm not sure where to start — can you help even if I don't have engineering files or a detailed spec yet?

WHAT TO EXPECT

Absolutely — many of our clients come to us at the idea stage with nothing more than a concept sketch or a description of what their product needs to do. Our product development team works with you to translate a product concept into an engineering specification, a design, and eventually a manufacturable product. You don't need Gerber files or a BOM to start a conversation with us. A clear description of what your product does, who it's for, and what your timeline looks like is enough for us to give you useful guidance on what the development process involves and what it's likely to cost. Starting early — before you've committed to a design direction — is actually the best time to involve a manufacturing partner, because the decisions made at concept stage have the largest impact on what the product costs to build.

The majority of our clients are based outside China — in the US, UK, Australia, Singapore, Germany, and other markets — so international working relationships are our normal, not the exception. All project communication happens in English via email, WhatsApp, or scheduled video calls. We assign a dedicated English-speaking project manager to every project who is your single point of contact throughout development and production. On time zones: Shenzhen operates on UTC+8, which means there is typically a 4–16 hour difference depending on your location. In practice, most clients find that asynchronous communication via email works well for day-to-day updates, with scheduled video calls for milestone reviews and key decisions. For shipping, we handle all export documentation, customs paperwork, and freight forwarding — DHL, FedEx, and sea freight depending on your timeline and volume. Finished goods arrive at your door with full customs documentation included.

I'm based outside China — how does working with a Shenzhen manufacturer actually work in practice? What about communication, time zones, and getting my products shipped?

I have an existing project with Peakingtech — who should I contact if I have a question about my order or need to reach my project manager?

The fastest route for existing project questions is your dedicated project manager's direct contact — they should have provided their WeChat, WhatsApp, or email at project kickoff. If you've misplaced that contact or your project manager is unavailable, email joezhai@peakingtech.com with your project reference number or company name in the subject line and we'll route your message to the right person within 4 hours during Shenzhen business hours (9am–6pm Monday–Friday UTC+8). For urgent matters — a production timeline question, a quality concern on received goods, or a logistics issue — call our office directly and ask for your project by name. We don't route existing client queries through a general support queue; every active project has a named contact who owns the communication.

Facility visits are welcome and encouraged — we consider them an important part of establishing a long-term manufacturing relationship. Our Shenzhen facility covers electronics assembly (SMT and through-hole), injection mold tooling and production, sheet metal fabrication, and CNC machining. Visits are arranged by appointment and typically include a guided tour of the production areas relevant to your project, a meeting with the engineering and project management team, and a review of our quality management documentation including our ISO 9001 certification, IPC-A-610 compliance, and process control procedures. To arrange a visit, contact us at least one week in advance with your company name, the production areas you'd like to see, and your preferred dates. We also support remote qualification for clients who cannot visit in person — we can provide facility photographs, video walkthroughs, quality documentation, and reference contacts from existing clients on request.

We're evaluating Peakingtech as a manufacturing partner — can we visit your facility, and what does the qualification process look like from your side?

We work primarily with hardware startups, independent inventors, and growing product brands — not with Fortune 500 companies requiring minimum annual commitments of millions of units. Our sweet spot is NPI and early-stage production: product development from concept, first PCBA builds from 5 units, injection mold tooling from a single cavity, and production runs from 50 to 50,000 units. There is no formal minimum project size — a single prototype PCBA build is a legitimate first engagement. We do apply a minimum order value of approximately $500 for standalone services to ensure the project is commercially viable for both sides. Projects that are "too early" are actually our preference — getting involved at the concept or DFM stage means we can help shape a product that is cost-optimised and manufacturable from the start, rather than inheriting a design that was created without manufacturing in mind. If you're not sure whether your project fits, describe it in a message and we'll give you an honest assessment of whether and how we can help.

I'm not sure if my project is too small, too early, or too complex for Peakingtech — what kinds of projects do you typically work with, and is there a minimum project size?
