Ring Car Cam CES 2023
Whether it be an Amish buggy drifting or a crazed axe-throwing man, the Ring Car Cam will definitely capture all that is going on inside and outside of your vehicle. Its dual-facing camera is designed to record when your car is in motion and when it’s turned off. When parked, Car Cam’s smart sensors automatically detect certain events both inside and around your vehicle.

If a break-in is detected, the camera starts recording and automatically sends a real-time alert to your Ring App, where you can see everything live. Using the Cam’s built-in microphone and speaker, you scare off potential thieves right from your smartphone. It also has a unique feature called Traffic Stop, where by saying “Alexa, record” activates the Cam and records several minutes of what’s happening, despite the car being parked. This feature comes in handy when you’re pulled over, or in the case of an accident where you want to record the interaction while exchanging information. Installation is a breeze since it plugs right into your vehicle’s battery via the OBD-II port and securely attaches to the windshield. Pre-order here now for $199.99 USD (MSRP $249.99), with shipments beginning in February.

Cars aren’t just expensive investments, they’re a lifeline for many, with 76% of U.S. adult commuters depending on their vehicle to get to and from work. Protecting our vehicles is top of mind. Two-thirds (66%) of car owners say they’re concerned about their car’s security, and yet one car was stolen every 39 seconds in the U.S. in 2020,” said the company.
